چکیده

Objective: In this study, we aimed to investigate the benefit of hematological results in determining differential diagnosis between testicular torsion (TT) and epididymo-orchitis (EO) patients presenting with acute scrotum, determine its predictive value for TT. Material Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 98 who applied our institute’s urology clinics or emergency service complaints scrotum. Thirty-two underwent orchiectomy detorsion due TT 48 EO were included study. The control group consisted 80 healthy men. Groups compared terms parameters such as age, white blood cell (WBC), mean platelet volume (MPV), neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio (NLR), monocyte/lymphocyte (MLR), platelet/lymphocyte (PLR). Results: WBC, MPV NLR found be statistically significant distinguishing from other groups, respectively; (AUC = 0.732, 95% CI: 0.647-0.816 p<0.001), 0.720, 0.615-0.825 0.629, 0.519-0.739 p=0.024). comparison subgroups within group, first had a lower monocyte count (p=0.005) MLR level (p=0.038). Conclusion: Hematological parameters; that is, NLR, which can easily determined complete analysis, high sensitivity specificity similar Doppler ultrasonography predict addition, think levels may beneficial have difficulty decision surgery.
